
Bash Brothers Schimpf and Hobson Homer in Victory

New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
MANCHESTER, NH - Ryan Schimpf and K. C. Hobson homered and Austin Bibens-Dirkx allowed one run in seven innings as the Fisher Cats closed out a homestand with an 8-3 win over Erie on Sunday at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
Bibens-Dirkx (5-6) allowed one run on six hits while walking one and striking out seven for the win. John Anderson finished up the game for New Hampshire.
Schimpf homered for the third consecutive day for the Fisher Cats (59-58). He led off the bottom of the second with his sixteenth of the season.
New Hampshire put together three consecutive singles in the bottom of the third inning. After singles by Jorge Flores and Roemon Fields, Dwight Smith Jr. plated a run. Kevin Nolan reached on a fielders choice as Fields scored for a 3-0 lead.
The SeaWolves (48-71) only scored once against Bibens-Dirkx. Miguel Gonzalez delivered a bases-loaded single in the top of the fourth inning.
The Fisher Cats sent ten men to bat in the bottom of the sixth inning to pull away from Erie. Schimpf singled and Hobson homered. Derrick Chung walked and Emilio Guerrero doubled with both scoring on a single by Flores (2-for-4). After consecutive walks to Fields and Smith Jr., Nolan's sacrifice fly made it 8-1.
Erie's Jason Krizan ripped a two-run homer in the top of the eighth inning for the game's final runs. Michael Fulmer (8-3) took the loss for the SeaWolves, working the first four innings.
