Harrisburg Senators News Release

Two runs in the eighth inning and three in the ninth allowed the Bowie Baysox to pull away from the Harrisburg Senators in a 7-3 decision Sunday at Metro Bank Park. With the loss, Harrisburg (57-64) has lost its last four series at home.

For a second consecutive game, the Senators kept the score close for a majority of the contest. Harrisburg's starter Austin Voth allowed a single run in the second and fifth innings. The fifth was Voth's last frame as he threw 102 pitches (65 strikes) in his time on the mound. Voth allowed six hits and two walks, but stranded six Bowie runners in his five innings. With the Senators trailing 2-0, Dakota Bacus kept Harrisburg close by throwing two scoreless innings.

Harrisburg outfielder Isaac Ballou started the seventh inning with a walk, and he then stole second base. Ballou remained there with two outs, but a groundball off the bat of Adrian Sanchez went through the legs of Bowie shortstop Garabez Rosa. The error allowed Ballou to score, cutting the Bowie lead to 2-1.

However, that's as close as Harrisburg would come as Bowie scored two runs on four hits off Senators reliever Abel De Los Santos in the eighth inning. The Baysox padded their total with three runs on three hits in the ninth against Bryan Harper.

The Senators scored two runs in the ninth when Jose Lozada scored on an RBI groundout by Brian Jeroloman and Adrian Sanchez drove in Ballou with an RBI infield single. Wilmer Difo had two of the Senators six hits Sunday.

Monday will be the final off day of the season for the Senators before they play the final 21 games of the season consecutively. Tuesday, the team will be in Akron to take on the RubberDucks, beginning at 7:05. The pregame show will start at 6:50 p.m. on Fox Sports 1460am, iHeart Radio, and on Tune In.
