Thursday, August 6, 2015 - Game #110 - Home Game #53

NYSEG Stadium - Binghamton, NY - 6:35 PM

LAST GAME: The B-Mets scored alteast eight runs for the third straight home game in their 9-2 win over Bowie Wednesday night at NYSEG Stadium. Binghamton collected 11 hits in the victory, including three from Xorge Carrillo, matching a career-high. The B-Met catcher also drove in three runs. Robert Gsellman earned his fourth win in his last five starts, allowing two unearned runs in five frames. Binghamton has taken the first two games of the series.

BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Rainy Lara is making his 14th start with Binghamton this season and second against Bowie. He has worked to a 3.60 ERA in his three starts with the B-Mets since returning from Las Vegas (AAA). He's coming off a five inning, one hit, performance against Richmond, earning the no-decision. Lara has made two career starts against Bowie, allowing a run in seven innings in each of them.

BOWIE STARTER: LHP Chris Lee is making his first career start with Bowie. He went 3-6 with a 3.07 ERA with Frederick (High-A) before earning the promotion. It's Lee's first year in the Baltimore organization after spending 4.5 years with Houston. He was acquired from Baltimore in mid-May and is pitching in Double-A for the first time. He's coming off a seven inning shutout against Myrtle Beach five days ago.

JARED'S KING: Jared King has driven in 12 runs over his last 14 games, despite batting .205 during that time. He has driven in multiple runs in back-to-back games for the second time this season, and the first in over three months.

MAGIC 8: Binghamton has not lost any of their past eight series, going 6-0-2. A win Thursday would give the B-Mets their third series sweep during that span.

VS. BAYSOX: Binghamton is 4-1 against Bowie this season, already clinching the season series for the third consecutive year. The B-Mets have outscored the Baysox, 35-14 in the five games. Thursday is the final meeting between the two teams in 2015. Binghamton is 15-7 against Bowie since the start of 2013.

LEFTY: The Baysox have thrown a lefty starting pitcher in all three games of the series. Binghamton is batting .264 against LHP this season compared to .256 against RHP. Gavin Cecchini leads the way with a .380 batting average in 100 at-bats against lefties.

LUCKY NUMBER 13: The B-Mets bullpen has allowed more than one run in just one of their past 13 games, when they surrendered two runs against New Britain.

RISP: Bowie is batting .142 (15-for-106) with men in scoring position over their last 12 games. The Baysox went 1-for-11 in those situations Wednesday night.

NEED FOR SPEED: These two teams are tied for the fewest stolen bases in the league with 50 each. Binghamton stole a season-high five bases in Wednesday's win. The B-Mets are 7-for-8 in steals against Bowie this season and 43-for-71 against the rest of the league. Bowie is 9-for-9 in stolen bases over their past 16 games.

POWER: The B-Mets rank second in the EL in home runs (74), while Bowie has not homered in August.

FRESH START: Vince Belnome is 7-for-15 with three RBI in this first four starts with the B-Mets, recording a basehit in all four games.

MILESTONE: Brock Peterson has 199 career home runs, while Josh Rodriguez sits at 98 for his career.

NEXT GAME PREVIEW: The B-Mets will welcome in Trenton Friday for a three game series at NYSEG Stadium beginning at 7:05 PM. RHP Gabriel Ynoa gets the ball for Binghamton.
