MANCHESTER, NH - - This evening Mayor Ted Gatsas; Andy Crews, President of AutoFair; Superintendent Dr. Debra Livingston, NBT Bank VP Retail Market Manager Dallas Lagerquist and Rick Brenner, President and general manager of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats stood by while selected Manchester students from the AutoFair "Make the Grade" contest were given a key and a chance to start the grand prize, a 2015 Hyundai Veloster. The giveaway took place during the pre-game show of the Fisher Cats at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.

Anthony Kokoszka, a junior from Manchester Central High School, picked the winning key and drove away with a new car. "It's unbelievable," Kokoszka said. "I never thought I ever would even get here. It's crazy, I walked up and kissed the car and it just happened."

"I remember the first time, five years ago, that the Make The Grade program was kicked off and how excited the student from Central High School was when the car started that evening at Fisher Cats Stadium," Crews said. "From then on, I have wanted to provide that incentive year after year to motivate the Juniors and Seniors to succeed, and help one lucky student a little more by rewarding them with a new car. It's exciting for our AutoFair family to see this program grow each year and help recognize the accomplishments of these students. This year, we welcomed a new partner to our program, Hot Hits Radio Station; they, too, realize the importance of incentives and rewarding the hard working students of Manchester."

"The commitment from Andy Crews, President of AutoFair and Rick Brenner, President of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats for keeping this program in our city schools for four years is outstanding," stated Mayor Ted Gatsas. "The new partnership with Hot Hits has also given us a chance to offer the students incentives throughout the school year. Each year this contest proves to be a win win for both the students and the Queen City."

"Make The Grade" is a public-private partnership between the City of Manchester, AutoFair and the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. This program is a shared effort to recognize academic achievements and enhance community commitment from corporate partners.

The "Make The Grade" Program awards a brand new 2015 Hyundai Veloster to a junior or senior high school student who achieved academic excellence by making the Honor Roll, High Honors and Principals list the 1st, 2nd or 3rd quarter of the 2014/2015 academic year. Four finalists from each school were drawn on Friday.
