
Austin Spurs Defeat Division Rival Texas Legends

FRISCO, Texas - The Austin Spurs (17-13), presented by SWBC, defeated the Texas Legends (17-15) by a final score of 111-102 on the road Saturday night.
Drew Eubanks paced the team with 29 points on his birthday, along with 6 rebounds and 3 blocks in 32 minutes. San Antonio Spurs assignee Luka Samanic recorded 19 points and 8 rebounds in 34 minutes, while Quinndary Weatherspoon posted 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists in 29 minutes.
The Spurs and the Legends traded baskets for the first half of the game. The Legends outscored the Spurs 30-29 in the first quarter and 23-22 in the second quarter, giving them a 53-51 edge at the half.
The Legends started to pull away in the third, growing their lead to as many as 15 (82-67) with three and half minutes remaining in the quarter. The Spurs then hit three-straight three-point shots to go on a 9-0 run to cut the Legends' lead to 6 at the 1:44 mark. The Legends responded with a 7-0 run to end the quarter with an 89-76 advantage.
In the fourth, Samanic scored the first 7 points of the quarter to bring the Spurs within 6, 89-83. After a Legends' three-pointer, the Spurs went on a 16-0 run over five minutes that put them up 99-92 with 3:33 remaining in the game. The Spurs outscored the Legends 35-13 in the fourth quarter to come away with the win.
For the Legends, Dakota Mathias tallied 25 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists in 39 minutes. Cameron Payne also had a double-double with 16 points and 12 assists in 35 minutes.
