Auburn Doubledays News Release

Tonight's Games: Today's doubleheader is a result of the postponed game on June 27th. The first game starts at 5:05 PM with the second game beginning approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first. Erick Fedde starts against Cesilio Pimentel in game one with game two featuring Matt Crownover against Luis Paula.

Last Night's Game: The Doubledays beat the Scrappers 6-3 in a rain shortened 7-inning game in Niles, Ohio. Auburn took the lead with a three-run top of the seventh, and a delay started before the top of the eighth. Moments before the eighth inning was about to begin, a delay started and thunder and rain rolled into the area. After about 40 minutes, the game was called and the Doubledays were awarded the victory.

The Hit-Man: Andrew Stevenson extended his hit streak to a team high 13 last night with an RBI single in the fifth inning. Over that streak, Stevenson is hitting .415 (22-53). Stevenson has recorded a hit in 16 of his 18 games with the Doubledays this season.

Holding Opposing Teams to Singles: The last extra- base hit the Doubledays' pitchers gave up was a homer in the third inning on July 15th against the Scrappers. Since then, the Doubledays have 16 hits, all of which have been singles, over the last 21 innings.

Twin Bill: This is the first of two scheduled doubleheaders. The other is August 15th vs. Batavia.
