Asuchak's Amazing Stretch Earns Player of the Week Award in the CHL

Allen, Texas - The Central Hockey League announced today that Americans Rookie forward Spencer Asuchak has been named the CHL Player of the Week for the period ending March 23rd 2014

Asuchak, in his rookie season in the CHL; and his first season with the Allen Americans, leads the team and the league in shorthanded goals with five. He is third in the league in rookie scoring with 53 points and first on the Americans active roster in points. He is tied for third on the team in goals with 20, and third on the Americans in assists with 33.

"We have a great team with a lot of talent, said Americans rookie Spencer Asuchak. "It's an honor to be recognized by the league. As a first year player, I'm learning from some of the best players in the CHL, however at this point, I'm focused more on us moving up in the standings than personal achievements."

Asuchak had eight points this past week for Allen, with 4 goals and 4 assists in four games including a hat trick against the St Charles Chill on Saturday night.
