Published on November 7, 2014 under ECHL (ECHL)
Tulsa Oilers News Release
TULSA, OK - The Tulsa Oilers, in a continuing effort to make their organization accessible and fan-friendly, are once again giving their fans and season ticket holders an opportunity to adopt players for entirety of the 2014-15 season.
Over the last several years this extremely popular program has allowed fans to create long-lasting memories and connections with many Oilers while the players get a chance to experience the generosity and hospitality of the Tulsa community.
Following the Oilers' game against Missouri on Saturday, November 15, the Adopt-an-Oiler auction will take place at the ONEOK Club inside the BOK Center. Each player on the Oilers' roster will be "adopted" by the highest bidder.
The adopting fan(s) name will appear on a specially designed patch on the back of their player's jersey for the remainder of the season. At the conclusion of the season, the adopting fan(s) will receive their player's game-worn jersey as well as a stick autographed by the entire Oilers team.
Following the Oilers' home games on Sunday, January 4 and Sunday, March 15, the adopting fan(s) will have the opportunity to meet with their player inside the Oilers' locker room. In a pre-game ceremony at the Oilers' final home game of the season on Saturday, April 4 against the Missouri Mavericks, the adopting fan(s) will be recognized on the ice with their player.
If an adopted player is traded or released, the adopting fan(s) will automatically receive the incoming player as their new adopted player.
Any fan(s) that cannot attend the live auction on Saturday, November 15 can place absentee bids by calling the Oilers' office at 918-632-7825. Payment plans will be accepted after a $100 deposit is placed on the night of the auction.
All questions about the Adopt-an-Oiler program and Adopt-an-Oiler auction should be directed to the Oilers' front office at 918-632-7825.
The Oilers hit the road this weekend for a pair of games against the Allen Americans. On Saturday at 7:05 p.m. all Oilers fans are invited to Fox And Hound (71st and Garnett) for an official Bud Light Watch Party.
