Greenville Swamp Rabbits News Release

Greenville, SC - The Greenville Road Warriors, proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, today announced forward Trevor Parkes has been traded to the Utah Grizzlies for defenseman Charles-Olivier Roussel.

"He's going to be a huge addition for us," Head Coach Dean Stork said. "He's a key two-way defenseman who plays in all situations, and will log a lot of minutes on our back line. Roussel has a lot of AHL experience and he's a very good puck mover. He spent the last three years on a Nashville Predators (NHL) contract and we are very excited to have him."

Roussel, 23, was drafted in the second round (#42 overall) by Nashville in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. He began this season with Utah and recorded four points (1g, 3a) and two penalty minutes in seven games. A third-year pro, Roussel spent all of last season with the AHL's Milwaukee Admirals, where he earned 17 points (4g, 13a), 19 penalty minutes and a +3 rating. He also skated in 17 contests with the Admirals during the 2012-13 campaign and notched one assist.

A native of St-Eustache, Quebec, Roussel began his pro career with the Cincinnati Cyclones in 2012-13, where he registered 17 points (6g, 11a), 42 penalty minutes and a career-best +9 rating in 40 games. Prior to turning pro, the 6'1, 205-pound defenseman played five full seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) with the Shawinigan Cataractes, Montreal Juniors and Saint John Sea Dogs. During the 2011-12 campaign, he helped Saint John capture the QMJHL Championship.

Parkes, 23, made seven appearances with the Road Warriors this season and recorded two assists and eight penalty minutes. The Fort Erie, Ontario native spent each of the last three seasons in the Detroit Red Wings organization, where he totaled 68 points (35g, 29a) in 50 games with the Toledo Walleye, and 26 points (11g, 15a) in 116 games with the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins.
