Utah Grizzlies News Release

West Valley City, Utah - The ECHL announced today that Utah goaltender Andrew Engelage has been named the Reebok Hockey Goaltender of the Week for January 3-9. It marks back-to-back weeks that a Utah goaltender has been named the league's top goalie. From December 27-January 2, J.P. Lamoureux captured the honors. It marks the fifth time in ECHL history that two goalies from the same team in back-to-back weeks have won the award.

The 22-year-old was 3-0-0 with a goals-against-average of 1.67 and a save percentage of .937 in three appearances last week, helping the Grizzlies improve their overall record to 22-10-4 for 48 points. Utah leads the Western Conference and is tied with Greenville for the league lead. Engelage made 30 saves in a 2-1 win at Idaho on Wednesday and followed that up with 16 saves in a 5-3 victory at Ontario on Friday. He ended the week with 28 saves in a 5-1 win against the Reign on Saturday. He is unbeaten in ten-straight starts and has won seven-straight starts.

The Oshawa, Ontario native is 12-3-3 in 18 appearances for the Grizzlies this season.

He is fifth in the league with a 2.39 goals-against average and second with a .924 save percentage. Prior to turning pro he played three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with Windsor, and was part of the Spitfires Memorial Cup championship team in 2008-09 by going 46-4-1 in the regular season and 14-2-1 in the postseason. The Grizzlies return home for four-straight games Wednesday when they welcome in Idaho for a 7:05 p.m. face-off. Utah continues the home stand Friday, Saturday and Monday with Stockton.
