Utah's Engelage Named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J.- Andrew Engelage of the Utah Grizzlies is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Jan. 3-9.

The 22 year old was 3-0-0 with a goals-against average of 1.67 and a save percentage of .937 in three appearances last week, helping the Grizzlies improve their overall record to 22-10-4 for 48 points.

Engelage made 30 saves in a 2-1 win at Idaho on Wednesday and followed that up with 16 saves in a 5-3 victory at Ontario on ‚¬Ë†Friday. He ended the week with 28 saves in a 5-1 win against the Reign on Saturday.

The Oshawa, Ontario native is 12-3-3 in 18 appearances for the Grizzlies this season. He is fifth in the league with a 2.39 goals-against average and second with a .924 save percentage.

As a rookie last season, ‚¬Ë†Engelage appeared in 11 games with Reading posting a 7-3-0 record with a 3.89 goals-against average and a save percentage of .887. He also saw action in 10 American ‚¬Ë†Hockey League games with Toronto.

Prior to turning pro he played three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with Windsor, and was part of the Spitfires Memorial Cup championship team in 2008-09.

Runners Up: Michael Hutchinson, ‚¬Ë†Reading (1-0-1, 1.97 GAA, .948 save pct.) and Todd Ford, South ‚¬Ë†Carolina (3-0-0, 1.67 GAA, .932 save pct.).
