Qwest Arena: Busy Weekend of Hockey Scheduled for Qwest Arena

(Boise, ID) - The ice crew at Qwest Arena in downtown Boise will be busy this weekend as the venue will host a trio of Idaho Steelheads ECHL hockey games as well as the 2011 Bronco Invitational and Idaho Junior Steelheads.
The ECHL's Steelheads host the Victoria Salmon Kings Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with the puck dropping each night at 7 PM. Friday night's Steelhead game includes a Marty Flichel poster giveaway, courtesy of Project Filter, along with a post-game, on-ice autograph session featuring the entire Steelhead team. New Boise Hawks manager Mark Johnson will be on hand to drop the ceremonial first-puck prior to Sunday night's game as well.
The 2011 Bronco Invitational begins Thursday night. The event is hosted by Boise State's club team and features the Broncos along with club teams from Eastern Washington and Washington State. Each game in the round-robin tournament will be played at Qwest Arena with the exception of Sunday morning's championship game, which will be held at Idaho Ice World off of Gowen Road in southeast Boise.
