South Carolina Stingrays News Release
North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays and the ECHL announced today that forward Rob Ricci is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for January 3-9.
Ricci, 26, scored seven goals and an assist and was a +7 as the Stingrays went 4-0-0 last week to extend their unbeaten streak to seven games (6-0-1) and move within four points of first-place Greenville in the South Division. The Brampton, ON native opened the week with his second professional hat trick in a 4-1 win against Gwinnett on Tuesday and then scored two goals in a 3-2 victory over Trenton on Friday. He scored once in a 3-2 win against the Devils on Saturday and closed the week with a goal and an assist against Trenton on Sunday as the Stingrays captured a 5-2 win.
