Anaheim Pulls up Kurtz

ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Anaheim Ducks announced Sunday that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled left wing John Kurtz from the Norfolk Admirals, Anaheim's primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Kurtz, 24, has five goals and 12 points in 70 games accompanied by 112 penalty minutes, which is second on the team. He is tied for fourth among teammates in games played and has set career highs in goals, assists, points, appearances and penalty minutes this season.

This is the first call-up to the NHL in Kurtz's career and he will make his NHL debut if he playsduring this stintfor Anaheim. Kurtz made his professional debut with Syracuse of the AHL back in 2009-10 and has accumulated 14 goals and 28 points as well as 364 total penalty minutes in 196 career AHL games.

The Admirals return home for a pivotal two games against the Hershey Bears starting on Wednesday, April 16.
