
Anaheim Acquires Conditional Seventh Round Pick in 2011 NHL Entry Draft from Toronto

Syracuse, NY (February 15, 2011) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Anaheim Ducks have acquired a seventh round pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft from Toronto in exchange for left wing Aaron Voros.
Voros, 29, appeared in two games for the Crunch this past weekend, recording five penalty minutes. He made his Syracuse debut on February 11 at Norfolk after clearing waivers and being assigned by Anaheim on February 9. Voros also appeared in 12 contests for Anaheim in this season, going scoreless with 43 penalty minutes. He missed 21 games (December 10 - January 25) with a fractured orbital bone suffered on December 8 at Vancouver. He made his Ducks debut on October 9 at Nashville, going scoreless in 4:35 time-on-ice (TOI). The 6-4, 210-pound Voros played in 41 games with the New York Rangers in 2009-10, tallying seven points (3g, 4a), to go along with 89 penalty minutes He had a career-high 16 points (8g, 8a) with 122 penalty minutes in 54 games with the Rangers in 2008-09.
A native of Vancouver, British Columbia, Voros was selected by the New Jersey Devils in the eighth round, 229th overall, in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. He has appeared in 162 career NHL games with Minnesota, NY Rangers and Anaheim, recording 37 points (18g, 19a) with 395 penalty minutes. In addition, he has appeared in 225 career AHL contests with the Crunch, Albany (River Rats), Lowell (Devils) and Houston, earning 91 points (44g, 47a) and 634 penalty minutes. He was acquired by the Ducks along with Ryan Hillier from the NY Rangers in exchange for Steve Eminger on July 9, 2010.
The Crunch travel to Adirondack to face the Phantoms on Wednesday, February 16 before returning home this weekend with a pair of home games against San Antonio on Friday, February 18 and Rochester on Saturday, February 19 at 7:30 p.m. at The Oncenter War Memorial Arena.
