Amerks receive six players from NHL clubs

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Americans General Manager Jody Gage announced today that six players have been reassigned to the Amerks from the National Hockey League. The Florida Panthers reassigned forwards David Booth and Drew Larman to the Amerks, while the Buffalo Sabres sent defenseman Mike Funk and forwards Michael Ryan, Daniel Paille and Drew Stafford back to Rochester.

The Amerks also swapped defensemen with the Florida Everblades of the ECHL. Jeremy Swanson will join the team on Tuesday in exchange for Franklin MacDonald. Swanson has played in 16 games and has three assists and 41 penalty minutes. MacDonald has seen action in 11 games with Rochester and has two assists.

Booth heads back to Rochester after playing in four games with the Panthers. The rookie made his NHL debut on November 20th at Boston. Larman also returns from Florida after playing two games with the Panthers, which included scoring his first NHL goal on November 24th against Ottawa.

Buffalo has sent four players to its American Hockey League affiliate. Michael Ryan played in three games with the Sabres and made his NHL debut on November 22nd against Toronto. Paille recorded four assists in four games with Buffalo. Stafford comes back after playing in seven games with Buffalo and collecting two assists. This season, the rookie has one goal and three assists in 11 NHL games. Funk returns after a five-game recall with the Sabres, which saw the rookie record two assists.

This week, the Amerks will finish up their six-game trip with two-game sets against the Grand Rapids Griffins and the Manitoba Moose. Rochester will face the Griffins on Friday, December 1st and Saturday, December 2nd at The Van Andel Arena. Rochester will then travel to Manitoba to play the Moose on Tuesday, December 5th and Wednesday, December 6th. All the games will be broadcast on Hot Talk 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and B2 Networks.
