WEEK IN REVIEW
Friday, Nov. 24 - Phantoms 4, Albany 2: Ryan Potulny scored two goals, including the game-winner, and Don Morrison had the best night of his young career with three assists to power the Philadelphia Phantoms to a 4-2 win over the Albany River Rats before 5,723 at the Wachovia Spectrum on Friday night. Philadelphia opened the scoring with 9:47 remaining in the first period on a Potulny goal just nine seconds into the club's first power play of the night. That advantage stood until the 12:26 mark of the second period when Kyle Cumiskey fired a shot from the point that David Gove deflected past Martin Houle to tie affairs at 1-1. The Phantoms regained their advantage less than 30 seconds later when Tony Voce scored 12:52, but the Rats tied the game on a goal by Keith Aucoin with 4:49 remaining. The Phantoms stepped back in front with 2:03 remaining in the frame on Potulny's second, and they collected an insurance goal with 5:04 remaining in the third period from Niko Dimitrakos. Houle earned the win with 25 saves on 27 Albany shots, while Peters took the loss with 20 saves on 20 Philadelphia opportunities.
Saturday, Nov. 25 - Norfolk 7, Phantoms 5: Ryan Potulny scored two goals for the second straight game, but he was overshadowed by a four-goal night by Brandon Bochenski in a 7-5 loss to the Admirals at Norfolk Scope. Philadelphia jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Niko Dimitrakos just 13 seconds into the contest and by Darren Reid with 6:19 remaining in the period. Norfolk rattled off the next four goals, with tallies by Bryan Bickell and Michael Blunden to go along with two from Bochenski. Potulny tied the game with his two goals, one at 16:28 and the other at 17:56 of the second period. But Bochenski completed the hat trick at 7:15 of the third period and added his fourth at the 10:06 mark. Blunden's second of the night at 12:38 made it a 7-4 game, but Mark Cullen got one of the goals back with 3:23 remaining for the 7-5 final. Rejean Beauchemin took the loss in his return to action after missing a lengthy period due to injury, making 20 saves on 27 Admirals shots. Crawford earned the win with 25 saves on 30 Phantoms opportunities.
