Foy recalled by Minnesota

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Minnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled RW Matt Foy from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Foy, 23 (5/18/83), has collected 22 points (11-11=22) including five power play goals and 27 penalty minutes (PIM) in 20 games with Houston this season. The 6-foot-2, 219-pound forward ranked first on the team in points, assists and power play goals and second in goals. He has tallied seven points (5-2=7) in Houston's past three games, including a natural hat trick in a 7-3 win over San Antonio on November 24. Sunday, Foy became the seventh player in Aeros' history to notch 100 points and accrue 300 penalty minutes. Foy appeared in two games with Minnesota earlier this season after being recalled on October 17 and did not register a point.

The Oakville, Ontario-native was originally selected by Minnesota in the sixth round (175th overall) of the 2002 Entry Draft. He will wear No. 83 with Minnesota.
