Canucks Recall Schultz

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, announced they have recalled forward Jesse Schultz.

Schultz, 24, has scored seven goals and seven assists for 14 points in 19 games with the Moose this season. In 2005-06, the Strasbourg, SK native enjoyed a career season. He was one of only two Moose players who appeared in all 80 games last season and he led the team in almost every offensive category, including goals and points. He scored a career-high 37 goals and added 30 assists for 67 points. He also led the team in game-winning goals (6), shots on goal (172), and also tied for the team lead in powerplay goals (11). He was also second in scoring for Manitoba's during the 2006 Calder Cup playoffs with five goals and seven assists for 12 points in 13 post-season games. In three seasons with the Moose, Schultz has played in 152 games, where he's scored 46 goals and 46 assists for 92 points and 107 penalty minutes. In 27 playoff games with the Moose, Schultz has scored eight goals and nine assists for 17 points and 12 penalty minutes.

The Canucks as a free agent originally signed Schultz on July 31, 2003.
