
Amerks Recall Knapp and Makarov from ECHL

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that the team has recalled goaltenders Connor Knapp (from Alaska of the ECHL) and Andrey Makarov (from Fort Wayne of the ECHL).
Knapp, 23, has appeared in 29 total ECHL games this season with Greenville, Florida and Alaska, posting a record of 11-12-3-2 with a 2.53 goals-against average, a .920 save percentage and one shutout. Last season, the native of York, New York, appeared in 12 games with Greenville, posting a record of 5-7-0 with a 3.05 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage. The 6-foot-5, 215-pound netminder also appeared in seven American Hockey League games with the Amerks during the 2012-13 campaign, going 1-6-0 with a 3.34 goals-against average and a .893 save percentage.
Makarov, 20, has played in 31 games with Fort Wayne this year, posting a record of 15-11-2-2 with a 2.79 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage in his first season of professional hockey. Last season, he played in 61 games with the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League (WHL), posting a record of 37-17-2-3 with a 2.62 goals-against average, a .919 save percentage and seven shutouts, and was named the Outstanding Goaltender for the 2013 Memorial Cup. In 115 career WHL games with Saskatoon, the 6-foot-1, 180-pound native of Kazan, Russia, went 66-38-3-4 with a 2.80 goals-against average, a .916 save percentage and nine shutouts.
