
Amerks Assign Three to the Elmira Jackals

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that the team has assigned forwards Justin Kea and Kevin Sundher and defenseman Brady Austin to the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL.
Kea, 20, has appeared in one game with the Amerks this season. He has also played in 13 games with Elmira, recording eight points (3+5) and 13 penalty minutes. Last season, Kea appeared in one AHL game with the Amerks after completing his junior hockey season with Saginaw of the Ontario Hockey League, where he recorded 49 points (22+27) and 97 penalty minutes in 58 games. The 6-foot-4, 206-pound native of Woodville, Ontario, was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the third round (73rd overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
Sundher, 22, has registered one assist in 13 games with the Amerks this season. Last season, Sundher collected 20 points (6+14) and 25 penalty minutes in 60 games for Rochester. In 111 career AHL games with the Amerks, the 6-foot, 185-pound native of Surrey, British Columbia, has recorded 34 points (10+24) and 57 penalty minutes. Sundher was originally selected by the Sabres in the third round (75th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
Austin, 21, has recorded one assist in 13 games with the Amerks this season. Last season, he concluded his junior career by splitting the year with Belleville and London of the Ontario Hockey League and totaling 33 points (9+24) and 42 penalty minutes in 67 games. The 6-foot-3, 235-pound native of Bobcaygeon, Ontario, was originally selected by the Sabres in the seventh round (193rd overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
