
Americans Score Well in the Best of the Best Awards

Allen, Texas - The Central Hockey League handed out its honors today in the Best of the Best Awards, and for the fourth year in a row the Americans were well represented.
Allen Americans longest tenured forward, Jarret Lukin, won two awards from the Central Hockey League, finishing on top in the categories of Best Defensive Forward and Best Penalty Killer. Darryl Bootland won the Best Power Forward, while Aaron Dell was named as the CHL's Top Goalie and the Ice Angels were voted on top in the category of Best Dance Team/Cheerleaders
The Americans were nominated in a total of 22 categories, right behind first place Missouri who had 24 to edge out Allen for the top spot overall.
The Americans finished runner up in several categories; Aaron Dell came in second in Best Goalie in Shootouts, Allen finished right behind Denver as the League's Best City, while Allen was second to Missouri in Most Attractive Place to Play. The Americans finished second in Arena Music, while Tommy Daniels finished runner up in the category of Best Broadcaster. Daniels received the most first place votes and won that award last year.
The Americans also receiving third place nominations in following categories: Brett Skinner, Hardest Shooter; Tyler Ludwig, Best Offensive Defenseman; Garret Clarke, Best Fighter Pound for Pound, as well as Most Annoying Player; Aaron Dell, Best Rookie; Jason Wallace and Kacee Coberly for Best Training and Equipment Staff; Allen Event Center for Best Ice Surface; Tommy Daniels for Best Game Notes and Tom Manning and Erik Adams for Best On-Ice Promotions.
The Americans play three games in three nights against the Fort Worth Brahmas, beginning this evening at NYTEX Sports Centre in Tarrant County. Puck drop is at 7:30 pm.
