Rochester Americans News Release
(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans have a week filled with four games and a side of Thanksgiving turkey. The Amerks' four-games in five-nights stretch begins on Wednesday against the Binghamton Senators and ends on Sunday against the Toronto Marlies.
The Amerks (10-7-0-0, 20 points) are in third place in the North Division after winning just one of three games last week. Rochester defeated the Syracuse Crunch 5-2 on Friday, but then suffered a 2-0 loss to the Crunch Saturday and a 5-1 defeat at Hershey Sunday. The Amerks are two points behind the second-place Manitoba Moose (10-6-1-1, 22 points).
On Wednesday, November 23rd, Rochester hosts the Binghamton Senators at 7:05 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena. The first 10,000 fans will receive a 1987 Calder Cup Champion team photo, courtesy of USA Payroll, Conolly Printing and 95.1 The Fox. The game will be broadcast on WHTK 1280-AM and webcast on the B2 Networks. The game is also available to on-line viewers on the B2 Networks for a $6.00 fee.
Two nights later, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins waddle into The Blue Cross Arena for the first time since the 2002-03 season. The Pens have been on a roll to start the season, going 16-0-1-0 in 17 games to lead the AHL with 33 points. They are also a perfect 9-0-0-0 on the road, and lead the AHL in both scoring (4.59 goals per game) and defense (1.94 goals allowed per game). The 7:35 p.m. contest will be televised tape delayed on Saturday, November 26th at 12:30 p.m. on Time Warner Cable Channel 98.
