The Tri-City Americans fought their way back into the win column on Saturday as they defeated the Spokane Chiefs in overtime.

For the second game in a row, the Americans were able to get on the board first. Tonight it was Parker Bell opening scoring 8:51 into the game.

Tri-City held their 1-0 lead into the second period.

Spokane tied the game 6:00 into the second frame with a power play goal from Nick McCarry. The Americans followed with a pair of goals from Ian Ferguson and Rhett Melnyk to take a 3-1 lead into the final period.

Andrew Fan recorded his first WHL point with a secondary assist on Ferguson's goal.

The Chiefs came back in the third period and tied the game again with goals from Brayden Crampton and Kooper Gizowski.

Tomas Suchanek played the full game in net for the Americans. The Czech netminder turned aside 33 of 36 shots faced.

The game stayed tied through regulation and extended into overtime.

Raegan Wiles took an interference penalty 1:11 into the extra frame to put the Americans on the power play. Connor Bouchard capitalized on the opportunity and scored the game-winning goal to secure the victory for Tri-City.
