Lincoln Saltdogs News Release

LINCOLN - The Saltdogs released one of the franchise's all-time great pitchers Monday, parting ways with Lindsay Gulin after he got off to a 1-7 start.

Gulin set the franchise wins record in a season with 13 back in 2006 en route to winning the American Association's 'Star of Stars' Award.

The veteran southpaw went on to earn Pacific Coast League All-Star honors in 2008 while playing for the Milwaukee Brewers Class-AAA affiliate in Nashville.

Gulin, 34, began his career in 1995 after being drafted by the New York Mets. The Southampton, N.Y. native and current Issaquah, Wash. resident has amassed a 119-74 record in his impressive career, reaching the Triple-A levels in both the Dodgers and Brewers organizations.

The Saltdogs filled the vacated roster spot by signing rookie Jordan Stern, who just concluded his collegiate career at Central Oklahoma.

The Saltdogs play a double-header against the St. Paul Saints tonight at 5:35 p.m. It's a T-Shirt Tuesday presented by Ameritas, with the first 1,000 fans receiving Saltdogs/Saints t-shirts! For more team and ticket information, go to www.saltdogs.com .
