Akron RubberDucks News Release
The Aeros announced a pair of roster moves today, with RHP Paolo Espino being transferred to Class A Lake County (that move happened yesterday) and RHP Randy Newsom being promoted to Class AAA Columbus today. No corresponding moves have yet been announced.
Espino appeared in one game for Akron, taking the loss in Sunday's 7-6 defeat against Altoona.
Newsom departs after doing yeoman's work in the past few games, tossing two innings in back-to-back outings Thursday and Friday (he hadn't gone two innings since July 2 of last year in his AAA debut for Buffalo). For the season, the club's all-time saves leader was 2-0 with one save and a 1.08 ERA in six appearances. Opposing hitters were batting just .138 against him.
