
AirHogs Shutout in Opening Game vs. Gary

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - The Texas AirHogs fell to the Gary SouthShore RailCats 4-0 in the opening game of a two-game set Tuesday at AirHogs Stadium. The teams close the quick series tomorrow at 7:05.
Meng Weiqiang (4-6) got the start for the AirHogs and held the RailCats to two runs into the seventh. There, Tillman Pugh tagged him for a two-run, two-out homer to put the game out of reach at 4-0. Meng scattered seven hits while walking two and striking out five.
Keaton Steele (3-2) picked up the win for Texas, allowing just four hits in a shutout effort. The AirHogs reached third twice in the game but were unable to break through vs. Steele or relief men Quinn DiPasquale and Adam Quintana.
Li Ning, Correlle Prime, Stewart Ijames, Chen Chen and Lu Zhenhong all picked up hits for the AirHogs. Gary stranded nine while Texas left seven. Zheng Chaoqun, Ran Song, and Qi Xin combined to hold the RailCats scoreless over the game's final 2.1 innings.
The AirHogs (18-49) and the RailCats (39-27) finish the quick two-game set tomorrow at 7:05. RHP Miguel Rosario (1-8, 5.34 ERA) will start for Texas vs. LHP Jeff McKenzie (4-6, 4.68 ERA) for Gary. A live stream of the game will be available at americanassociationbaseball.tv and mixlr.com/TXAirHogs.
