Outfielder Chris Aguila's torrid June not only earned him a promotion to the Florida Marlins, but also the organization's Minor League Player of the Month Award, the Major League club announced today. Aguila finished the month leading the Isotopes in runs scored, homers, and RBI.

In 28 June games, Aguila racked up a .354 batting average with 23 runs scored, nine doubles, two triples, six homers, and 20 RBI. The native of Reno, Nevada also added six stolen bases, a .629 slugging percentage, and a .398 on-base percentage.

Aguila's June feats were enough to grab the attention of the Marlins, who brought him up on July 5 for his second stay in the Major Leagues this season after starting the season with the big club and being optioned to Albuquerque on May 27.

Isotopes hitters have now won the organization's Player of the Month awards back-to-back, as Aguila joins catcher Josh Willingham, who won the honor for the month of May.

The Marlins' Pitcher of the Month for June was right-hander Jose Garcia of the Class-A Greensboro Grasshoppers, who finished the month with a 3-0 record and a 1.25 ERA in 28.1 innings-pitched in five appearances, four of them starts.
