Admiral Alums Weber, Hamhuis Win Gold

Milwaukee, WI- Milwaukee Admirals Alumni Shea Weber and Dan Hamhuis captured gold medals today as members of Team Canada, who topped Sweden 3-0 in the final game of the Olympic Hockey Tournament in Sochi, Russia.

Weber, who had an assist and a +2 rating in the gold medal game, is now the first Admirals alum to earn two golds. He was also a member of Canada's 2010 squad and finished this year's Olympic tournament with three goals.

Hamhuis, who played for the Admirals in 2002-03 and 2004-05, is the fourth former Admiral to take home gold. He joins Buzz Schneider (1980 USA), Mikhail Shtalenkov (1994 Russian Unified), and Weber.

Weber and Hamhuis were two of the ten current and former Admirals who competed for their country in Sochi.
