Flames Assign Forward Ben Hanowski to Abbotsford

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Flames announced today that they have assigned forward Ben Hanowski to the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League.

Hanowski, a native of Little Falls, Minnesota, has recorded 12 goals and 14 assists for 26 points with Abbotsford this year, his first full season as a professional. After completing his senior season at St. Cloud State (WCHA), Hanowski signed an entry level contract with Calgary on April 12th, 2013. He would go onto play in 5 games with the Flames last season, recording his first NHL goal in his first NHL game. He was originally drafted by Pittsburgh in the 3rd round (63rd overall) in the 2009 NHL Draft.
