HAMILTON, ONTARIO - Hamilton Bulldogs captain Martin St. Pierre scored twice and goaltender Dustin Tokarski made 32 saves to lead the way as the 'Dogs topped the San Antonio Rampage 3-1 on Sunday afternoon at FirstOntario Centre.
St. Pierre got his club on the board first with his ninth goal of the season at 7:25 of the opening period, assisted by defenceman Greg Pateryn and forward Stefan Fournier.
San Antonio forward Quinton Howden responded for the Rampage on the power play at 8:06 of the second period, assisted by forward Ryan Martindale and defenceman Ryan Whitney.
St. Pierre notched his second goal of the game and 10th of the season just over four minutes later to give the 'Dogs a 2-1 lead, with assists from defenceman Nathan Beaulieu and forward Sven Andrighetto.
Thirty-six seconds into a third-period power play, Hamilton forward Mike Blunden potted his 11th goal of the campaign to extend the lead to 3-1. Forward Nick Tarnasky and Pateryn drew assists on the play.
Tokarski faced 33 shots in the Bulldogs net in the win. Jacob Markstrom made 28 saves on 31 shots for the Rampage in the loss.
Hamilton went 1-for-4 on the power play, while San Antonio went 1-for-5.
