
Aces Homer to Game-One Victory over Tacoma

Reno, NV. - Four Aces homered in game one of the three-game series against the Tacoma Rainiers Tuesday night. Reno defeated their Pacific Northern Division rivals by a score of 10-7 behind a 2-for-4 effort from 2019 Pacific Coast League All-Star Yasmany Tomas. Tomas launched his 29th home run of the season, tying teammate Kevin Cron for the Pacific Coast League lead. Tomas was joined by teammates Andy Young, Domingo Leyba and Abraham Almonte in the home run category tonight. Leyba hit his 16th blast of the year in the bottom of the first inning to give Reno an early 2-0 advantage. As a team, Reno never slowed down. They plated 10 runs on 11 hits Tuesday night and recorded three multi-run innings. The win gives Reno a record of 43-59 this season with 38 games remaining in the regular season. Yasmany Homers: Yasmany Tomas hit his 29th home run of the season in tonight's contest against the Tacoma Rainiers. Tomas' homer tied teammate Kevin Cron for the Pacific Coast League lead. Last season, Tomas hit 14 bombs in 106 games played with Reno. His career-high came in 2016 with the Arizona Diamondbacks when he hit 31 in 140 games. Tomas is three shy of tying the Reno franchise record for most home runs in the regular season. In 2017, Christian Walker won the Pacific Coast League MVP award with 32 home runs and 114 RBI.
Welcome Back: Former Aces infielder Kelby Tomlinson returned to the Biggest Little City tonight as a member of the Tacoma Rainiers. Tomlinson appeared in 30 games with Reno this season and hit .218 before he was released on May 12. Tomlinson joined the Rainiers squad on June 1 and has appeared in 36 games. Tonight, Tomlinson went 3-for-4 with two RBI.
Dup Day: Jon Duplantier is slated to be the Reno starting pitcher tomorrow night. The Arizona Diamondbacks placed RHP Jon Duplantier on the 10-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation. With Reno this season the number one pitching prospect is 0-2 with a 4.76 ERA in six starts. While with Arizona, he went 1-1 in eight appearances to the tune of a 4.32 ERA.
