Noesi Leads 'Cakes to the Win

Memphis - The 'Cakes got a pair of solo home runs in the first inning and got some solid pitching in a 5-2 road win in Memphis. The win snapped a four game road losing streak.

Hector Noesi earned his eleventh win of the season matching Colin Rea of the Iowa Cubs for the league lead. Noesi worked five innings and allowed one run on five hits. The bullpen worked four innings and limited the Redbirds to one run.

Deven Marrero and Lewis Brinson each delivered solo home runs in the first inning to kick start the 'Cakes offense. Leasing 2-1 in the fifth inning Gabriel Guerrero smoked a two-run shot into centerfield scoring pair of runs to make it a 4-1 advantage. New Orleans added a run in the sixth with a two out double from Peter O'Brien scoring Isan Diaz.

The bullpen combination of Jordan Milbrath, Kyle Keller and Jeff Brigham closed it out for the win. Brigham earning his second save of the year.

GAME NOTES- The 'Cakes added pitcher Brett Graves from Class AA Jacksonville and assigned Jeff Kinley to Class AA.

UPCOMING - The 'Cakes wrap up the three game trip in Memphis on Thursday at 7pm.
