Alaska Aces News Release
ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Alaska Aces begin their quest for the 2006 Kelly Cup at Sullivan Arena on Monday, April 10, against either the Idaho Steelheads or the Utah Grizzlies.
If Alaska should capture its second straight West Division title, the Aces would play host to Utah Monday and Tuesday, April 10-11, in the first two games of a best-of-seven series, with the winner advancing to play the winner of a Las Vegas-Idaho series. If Las Vegas wins the regular season crown, Alaska would welcome Idaho for the first two games, also Monday and Tuesday, April 10-11, with the winner of that best-of seven series advancing to play either the Wranglers or the Grizzlies, who would meet in the other West Division semifinal. All first round playoff games at Sullivan Arena will begin at 7:15 p.m.
If Alaska meets Utah and the series lasts beyond five games, Game Six would return to Sullivan Arena Tuesday night, April 18, at 7:15 p.m., with a potential seventh game scheduled for Saturday, April 22 at a site yet to be determined. If the Aces play Idaho and the series lasts beyond four games, Games Five and Six (if necessary) would return to Sullivan Arena Monday and Tuesday, April 17-18, at 7:15 p.m. If a seventh game became necessary, the deciding contest would be held in Boise Saturday, April 22, at 5:10 AST.
Alaska, 51-11-7 overall and leading Vegas by a point in its bid for a second straight West Division title, plays at Stockton tonight at 6:00 p.m. AST before returning to Fresno for a rematch with the Falcons Friday at 6:00 p.m. AST. The Aces edged Fresno 3-2 last night at the Save-Mart Center and can clinch the West Division with two wins in their last three games. All Alaska Aces games are broadcast live on KFQD AM 750 and at www.alaskaaces.com, where all home games and selected road contests also are available on a pay-per-view basis, courtesy of B2 Networks.
