PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Wednesday announced the Second Team All-ECHL
selections as determined in a vote of ECHL coaches.
2005-06 Second Team All-ECHL
F - Garett Bembridge, Idaho Steelheads (52 gp, 36g, 39a, 75 pts, +5)
F - Ryan Kinasewich, Utah Grizzlies (57 gp, 37g, 43a, 80 pts, +5)
F - D'Arcy McConvey, Idaho Steelheads (58 gp, 39g, 47a, 86 pts, +11)
D - Peter Metcalf, Alaska Aces (67 gp, 13g, 38a, 51 pts, +43)
D - Steve Lingren, Victoria Salmon Kings (62 gp, 22g, 25a, 47 pts,
+2)
G - Marc Magliarditi, Las Vegas Wranglers (50 gp, 33-11-5, 3
shutouts, 2.48, .909)
Garett Bembridge of Idaho is tied for third in the league with 36
goals and is tied for 10th in scoring with 75 points in 52 games despite
not playing for the Steelheads since Feb. 19. The 24-year-old, who was
selected as a starter for the All-Star Game by National Conference coaches,
led the league in goals and points when he was loaned to the Portland
Pirates of the American Hockey League where he has eight points (5g-3a) in
18 games. He is second on the Steelheads with 36 goals, 75 points, 14
power-play goals and five game-winning goals. He has also played two games
in the AHL with Syracuse.
In his second professional season, D'Arcy McConvey of Idaho leads
the league with 39 goals and eight game-winning goals while ranking second
with 86 points and 16 power-play goals in 58 games. McConvey, who was
selected as a starter for the All-Star Game by National Conference coaches,
scored 24 points (13g-9a) in his last 11 games before being recalled on
Wednesday to the Iowa Stars of the American Hockey League where he has
eight penalty minutes in eight games.
In his second professional season, Ryan Kinasewich of Utah is second
in the league with 37 goals and tied for fifth with 80 points in 57 games.
The 22-year-old leads the Grizzlies with 13 power-play goals and 32
power-play points.
Peter Metcalf of Alaska leads the ECHL in plus-minus rating with
+43 and is second among ECHL defensemen with 51 points in 67 games. He is
fourth among defensemen with 38 assists and tied for fifth with 13 goals.
Steve Lingren of Victoria leads ECHL defensemen with 22 goals and
is fourth with 47 points in 62 games despite not playing for the Salmon
Kings since Mar. 18. Lingren was signed by Milwaukee of the AHL on Mar. 14
and he has two assists in four games with the Admirals. He was selected to
be the captain for the National Conference in the All-Star Game, having
been voted as a starter for the second time and selected for a third time.
Lingren, who was named First Team All-ECHL in 1995-96, leads Victoria with
four game-winning goals, 15 power-play goals and 28 power-play points and
is tied for the team lead in goals.
Marc Magliarditi of Las Vegas is 33-11-5 and is second in the
league in wins and fifth in goals-against average at 2.48 in 50 games. The
career leader with 25 shutouts, Magliarditi is fourth in the league with
2,926 minutes and tied for fifth with three shutouts. Magliarditi is one of
only five goaltenders in league history to reach 30 wins twice and he has
won 20 games for the sixth time which ranks him third for most 20-win
seasons behind Nick Vitucci and Daniel Berthiaume, who each won 20 games
seven times. Magliarditi is 213-107-27 in 360 career ECHL games and ranks
second in career wins behind Nick Vitucci, who won 265 games in 13 seasons
from 1988-2001.
