2018 Jays 2nd-Rounder Conine Joins Lugnuts' Outfield

LANSING, Mich. - In conjunction with the Toronto Blue Jays, outfielder Griffin Conine has been reinstated from the Restricted List and added to the Lansing Lugnuts' roster and outfielder Tanner Kirwer has been placed on the 7-day Injured List.

Conine, 21, was drafted in the 2nd round, 52nd overall, in 2018 from Duke University. Rated the No. 16 prospect in the organization by MLB.com, he is the son of 17-year Major Leaguer Jeff Conine, nicknamed "Mr. Marlin." The Blue Jays' organization also prominently features the sons of former Major Leaguers Vladimir Guerrero, Craig Biggio, Dante Bichette and Roger Clemens.

Lansing's official roster is attached, with 25 active players and 10 players on the Injured List.

The Lugnuts (21-29) play the second game in a three-game series tonight at 7 p.m. at Fifth Third Field against the Dayton Dragons, returning home on Friday, May 31st, to open a three-game series with the Bowling Green Hot Rods at Cooley Law School Stadium.
