Springfield Falcons News Release
The Falcons finished 36-34-3-3 this year, the first time they finished over .500 since 1997-98. Highest win total since winning 45 games in 1997-98.
The Falcons used 45 skaters and 7 goaltenders this year. Brent Regner was the Falcons iron man playing in 75 of 76 games
Manny Legace led the Falcons in wins for the 4th time in his career, 94-95, 95-96, 96-97 and 2011-12
Cam Atkinson finished with 29 goals, he is 2nd to only Daniel Briere (36) for most goals in a season by a Falcons rookie.
Alexandre Giroux (28) and Cam Atkinson (29) finished the year as Springfield's top goal producers...First time since the 2006-07 campaign the Falcons have had two players score 25 or more goals in a season...Norm Milley (26) and Eric Healey (27) were the last Falcons tandem to each score 25 or more together in a season.
Martin St. Pierre finished the year with 53 assists, 3rd in the league and he led the Falcons in scoring with 64 points..Martin St. Pierre had the 5th highest assist total in a season by a Falcons player. Jean-Guy Trudel (65), Daniel Briere (56), Charles Linglet (55), Brad Tiley (54) are the top 4.
Alexandre Giroux ends the year 7th on the AHL's All-Time Goals List with 368 career markers. He is only 8 away from tying Harry Pidhirny for 6th on the AHL's All-Time Goals List.
