ECHL Confirms Start Date for 2020-21 Season

October 9, 2020 - The ECHL, in conjunction with the Professional Hockey Players' Association, announced today that the 2020-21 Season will commence on December 11, 2020 under a split-season format. Under the split-season guidelines, the following teams will begin a 72-game season on December 11th: Allen, Florida, Greenville, Indy, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Orlando, Rapid City, South Carolina, Tulsa, Utah, Wheeling, and Wichita. Forward Marcus Vela Re-Signs with the Walleye

October 1, 2020 - Forward Marcus Vela has agreed to terms with the Walleye for the 2020-21 season. Vela, 23, re-signs with Toledo after playing 49 games for the Fish during the 2019-20 season. September 24, 2020 - Toledo, OH - Veteran Forward TJ Hensick returns for a third season in the pond, agreeing to terms with the Walleye for the 2020-21 season. Hensick, 34, was one of the Toledo's offensive leaders last season totaling 56 points in 57 games with 16 goals and 40 assists. He ranked third in goals and tied for second with assists. September 16, 2020 - Toledo, OH - Defenseman Randy Gazzola has agreed to terms with the Toledo Walleye for the 2020-21 season. Gazzola, a native of Thorold, Ontario, rejoins the Walleye after spending the 2019-20 in Italy with Rittner Baum, of the 17 team Alps Hockey League. Over 44 games, he scored 10 goals and 24 assists, and was a +21 for the season.
