Idaho Stampede News Release

BOISE, Idaho - The Idaho Stampede were outscored 28-15 in the final quarter and ultimately lost to the Bakersfield Jam 96-91. Bakersfield converted 15 of 21 free throw attempts in the final frame, led by guard Joe Jackson's 10 free throws.

Joel Wright and Shane Gibson helped the Stampede jump out to a 13-point lead in the third quarter with eight and seven points respectively. Idaho held Bakersfield to just 30 percent shooting in the frame and had control heading into the final period. But Joe Jackson's 14 fourth quarter points helped give Bakersfield a lead they would never give up.

Idaho was led by Joel Wright's 21 points and six rebounds. Jerrelle Benimon recorded 17 points, 12 rebounds and five assists, his 10th double-double. John Jenkins pitched in with 18 points and six rebounds while on assignment from the Atlanta Hawks.

Earl Barron recorded his second consecutive double-double against the Stampede with 23 points and 14 rebounds. Joe Jackson had a game-high 24 points, with 14 of them coming from the charity stripe. Casey Prather (14 points) started in the place of inactive Elijah Millsap.

Idaho will host the Oklahoma City Blue in a back-to-back, starting Tuesday, January 6. The Bakersfield Jam will host the Austin Spurs on Thursday, January 8.
