New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release

(Manchester, NH)-Travis d'Arnaud drove in runs with singles in the fourth and eighth innings and EL All-Star Joel Carreno allowed three runs in six innings with eight strikeouts, but the Fisher Cats dropped a 3-2 decision to Reading as a new homestand opened Monday night.

Carreno (7-7) allowed two runs in the top of the first inning to the Phillies (50-45). Freddy Galvis (2-for-3, 2 2B) and Matt Rizzotti drew walks. Steve Susdorf and Derrick Mitchell delivered RBI singles as Reading opened a 2-0 lead.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Mike McDade ripped his 34th double of the season and scored on a single by d'Arnaud to make it 2-1. d'Arnaud extended his hit streak to 15 games, matching the longest of the season by a Fisher Cats player.

Reading moved back up by two runs in the top of the fifth inning on a double by Galvis and an RBI single by Rizzotti.

The Fisher Cats (53-41) closed to within a run in the bottom of the eighth inning on a single by Anthony Gose, who stole second and an RBI single for d'Arnaud.

New Hampshire managed just four hits in seven innings against Reading's Austin Hyatt (8-5), who like Carreno pitched in the EL All-Star Game last week at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. Hyatt walked two and struck out 10 batters.
