TONIGHT: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and New Britain Rock Cats will meet in the opener of a three-game series...The Bowie Baysox led from start to finish last night, scoring a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning and adding home runs from Joe Mahoney and Luke Scott to claim a 6-1 series-clinching win on Sunday night in front of 2,124 fans at The Diamond.

MISSED OPPORTUNITIES: The Flying Squirrels went 1-for-23 (.043) with runners in scoring position, including going 0-for-10 with runners in scoring position on Saturday night, and stranded 23 runners on base in the four-game series at Bowie...Overall on the season, Richmond is batting .261 (190-for-727) with runners in scoring position...Seven of the nine runs scored in the series by the Flying Squirrels came on home runs, none of which occurred with a runner in scoring position.

SAN FRANCISCO: Outfielder Francisco Peguero has hits in each of his last six games, his third hit streak of five games or more since being promoted from Advanced-A San Jose 6/23...The 23-year-old is 7-for-22 (.318) over his last six contests with two doubles, a triple, one RBI, and one run scored including a pinch hit double 7/10 against Harrisburg...The Dominican has hits in 17 of the 22 games he has appeared in with the Flying Squirrels...Peguero hit in the clean-up spot in the order for Richmond last night for the first time after batting leadoff in 20 of his first 21 games.

THE JOLLY ROGER: Outfielder Roger Kieschnick went 1-for-4 last night including a leadoff solo home run in the top of the seventh inning...He leads the team with 11 home runs and is one shy of matching Thomas Neal's single-season mark of 12...Six of the 15 home runs that the Texas-native has hit in the Eastern League have come at Prince George's Stadium...The 24-year-old also leads the club with 30 extra-base hits.

JOHNNY ON THE SPOT: Catcher Johnny Monell is batting .375 (27-for-72) over his last 25 games with five doubles, three home runs, 13 RBIs, and 11 runs scored...Over his last 25 games, the 25-year-old has lifted his batting average from .214 to .257...The Eastern League Mid-Season All-Star has not had his batting average above .260 since he was hitting .261 on 4/15.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN: The Flying Squirrels are in the middle of a stretch where they are playing 14 of 20 games on the road...The club recently completed a stretch where it played 19 out of 26 games at home, going 16-10 overall including an 13-6 mark at home...The club is 32-17 overall at home and is batting .261 in 49 games at The Diamond while averaging 4.57 runs per game at home (224R/49G)...Overall, the club is 16-27 on the road, and is batting .208 and averaging 3.23 runs per game (139R/43G) in 43 road contests.

PITCHING IN: The Flying Squirrels pitching staff leads the Eastern League with a 3.15 ERA through 92 games and has allowed a league-low 335 runs...Richmond's pitching staff has allowed two runs or less in 35 of its 92 games (38%)...Starting pitching has allowed three runs or less in 65 of the team's 92 games (71%) and the club is 43-22 in those contests...The club's 3.15 ERA is the second-lowest among all of the full-season MiLB teams, trailing only the Triple-A Gwinnett Braves.
