Snappers Gain Series Split, Win 2-0

ruce Pugh and the Snappers will head to Appleton, Wisconsin on a high note as they defeat the Clinton Lumberkings 2-0 as the Snappers split the four game series against the Lumberkings.

Snapper starting pitcher Pugh went six shut out frames as he only gave up two hits and struck out seven batters.

The pitching staff as a whole struck out 12 batters as the newest Snapper Brad Stillings, Steve Blevins, and Billy Bullock went an inning each to shut down the Lumberking offense.

The Snappers got on the board in the second when Nate Hanson scored on a two-base wild pitch from Clinton starter Maikel Cleto. The Snappers would take the 1-0 lead into the eighth inning.

Ramon Santana led off the bottom of the eighth with a double to left field. Adan Severino would pinch run for Santana and would get to third on a wild pitch. Danny Rams drove in the insurance run as he doubled to right scoring Severino giving the Snappers the 2-0 lead. Billy Bullock came on in the ninth to record his fifth save of the season.

The Snappers will hit the road and will be back at Pohlman Field Thursday, August 20th as they take on the Kane County Cougars with first pitch scheduled for 7:00pm.
