"Heart Disease is the number one killer of women and we want everyone to be aware so they can make changes that lead to longer, stronger lives. This is the reason we started the Go Red For Women program," remarked Simone McDowell, marketing and communication director for AHA. "It is our goal to get women aware and active about their health. We are so excited to work with Charlotte Checkers to raise awareness and encourage women to make positive changes in their lives that could help reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke."
"The Go Red for Women Night is a great opportunity for us to partner with a phenomenal group of people to raise awareness and funds for a cause that is quite literally touches everyone in some way or another. The local chapter of the AHA works on all cylinders all year long to encourage healthy lifestyle changes for people residing in the charlotte arena. We hope the Go Red Night will help them accomplish their goals," said Checkers COO Tera Black.
