Falcons Re-Sign Prudden and Swap Players with Rockford

FRESNO, CALIF. - The Fresno Falcons announced today that center Adam Hobson has been assigned to the club by the AHL's Rockford Ice Hogs, while center Peter MacArthur has been recalled by the Ice Hogs. In a separate transaction, the Falcons have re-signed center Josh Prudden.

Hobson appeared in four games with Rockford this season, going scoreless and posting two penalty minutes. As a rookie last season, he split time with the Pensacola Ice Pilots and Rockford. In 24 games with the Ice Pilots, he tallied 10 goals and added five assists, while in 25 games with the Ice Hogs, he notched one goal and four assists. The 6-foot, 200-pound center was a seventh round selection of the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

MacArthur had two goals and two assists in three games with the Falcons, and is second on the team with four points.

Prudden returns to the Falcons for his third season with the club. Two seasons ago, he scored seven goals and added 10 assists for 17 points in 18 games with the Falcons, and spent the bulk of the season in the AHL with Worcester, where he tallied 31 points in 56 games. He started last season in the AHL with Worcester and Manitoba, before returning to the Falcons on March 5. In 18 games with the Falcons last season, Prudden scored seven goals and added 14 assists for 21 points, while adding three points in the club's six playoff games. The 28-year-old has appeared in 340 career professional games, scoring 70 goals and adding 104 assists for 174 points.

Fresno continues its nine-game road trip on Friday, opening a three-game series in Anchorage against the Alaska Aces at 8:15 p.m. PT.

Began in 1988-89 with five teams playing in four states, the Premier 'AA' Hockey League has grown into a coast-to-coast league that will have 23 teams in 16 states and British Columbia playing 828 games from Oct. 17, 2008 to Apr. 4, 2009. Eighteen of the 23 teams have played at least five years in their current city.

The third-longest tenured professional hockey league behind only the National Hockey League and the American Hockey League, the ECHL averaged 4,174 per game last season, marking the fourth year in row and the 16th time in the last 18 years that the league has averaged over 4,000 fans. The league has drawn over four million fans each of the last five years and 11 times in the past 12 seasons.
