Rookies Have Falcons Off To Record Start

Fresno will be looking to begin the season 4-0-0 for the first time ever when they play the first of three games at Alaska on Friday. The Falcons won their first three games in 2005-06 and 2006-07. Fresno is tied with Ontario (3-1-0) for the Pacific Division lead while the Aces are 3-1-0 and tied for the West Division lead with Phoenix (3-2-0).

The Falcons, who have won every game by a 3-2 score, and Alaska will play on Saturday and Sunday. The Aces have won the last seven meetings at Alaska and are 29-7-3 overall against Fresno.

Rookie Mike Radja leads the Falcons with three goals and five points while rookie Peter MacArthur is second with three goals and four points. Josh Soares (5g-4a) and Colin Hemingway (3g-6a) lead the Aces offense with nine points each.

Fresno rookie Joe Fallon is 2-0-0 with a goals-against average of 2.00 and a save percentage of .934 while rookie Michael Ouzas is 1-0-0 with a goals-against average of 1.85 and a save percentage of .941. Ouzas is fifth in goals-against average and sixth in save percentage while Fallon is tied for eighth in goals-against average and eighth in save percentage. Alaska rookie Jean-Phillipe Lamoureux, who is 3-1-0 with a goals-against average of 3.18 and a save percentage of .918, is tied for the league lead with three wins and one shutout.

American Conference - North Division

Cincinnati Cyclones
- Cyclones had 5,183 on Saturday, the third largest opening day crowd in team history.
- Thomas Beauregard has a four-game point streak (5g-5a) and is tied for fourth in the ECHL with 10 points.
- Cincinnati plays at Reading on Friday and at Dayton on Saturday.

Dayton Bombers
- Bombers are 3-0-0 for the first time in more than five seasons.
- David Shantz is 2-0-0 with a shutout and a goals-against average of 0.50.
- Dayton plays at Wheeling on Friday before hosting Cincinnati on Saturday and Johnstown on Sunday.

Elmira Jackals
- Elmira ranks sixth in the ECHL on the penalty kill with 87.9 percent (29-for-33).
- Tyler Donati is tied for second in the ECHL with 12 points (4g-8a).
- Jackals host Idaho on Wednesday and Friday and Trenton on Saturday.

Johnstown Chiefs
- Chiefs ranks seventh in the ECHL with 2.60 goals-against per game.
- Petr Pohl had an ECHL season-high four assists in Saturday's 6-4 win at Reading.
- Johnstown plays at Trenton on Thursday, at Wheeling on Saturday and at Dayton on Sunday.

Reading Royals
- Reading is out scoring their opponents 8-4 in the third period.
- Shawn Snider has a four-game point streak (2g-3a).
- Royals host Cincinnati on Friday and Idaho on Saturday.

Trenton Devils
- Devils are tied for the ECHL lead on the power play on the road with 33.3 percent (5-for-15).
- Eric Castonguay and Ryan Gunderson lead the Devils with five assists and six points each.
- Trenton hosts Johnstown on Thursday and Idaho on Sunday while visiting Elmira on Saturday.

Wheeling Nailers
- Wheeling leads the ECHL with nine points (4-0-1) and is off to their best start since going 4-1-0 in 2003-04.
- Rookie Tommy Goebel has five multiple-point games and leads the ECHL with 13 points (5g-8a).
- Nailers host Dayton on Friday and Johnstown on Saturday.

American Conference - South Division

Augusta Lynx
- Lynx have won their last two games and are 3-0-1 after beginning the season 0-2-0.
- Aaron Slattengren has four goals in the last three games and is tied for second in the ECHL with five goals.
- Augusta plays at Charlotte on Friday.

Charlotte Checkers
- Charlotte ranks fifth in the ECHL on the penalty kill on the road with 87.2 percent (34-for-39).
- Rookie Matthew Ford has multiple points in three consecutive games (5g-2a).
- Checkers play at Gwinnett on Tuesday and host Augusta on Friday.

Florida Everblades
- Everblades are 2-0-0 when leading after the second period.
- Danick Bouchard leads the team with four goals.
- Florida plays at South Carolina on Friday and Saturday.

Gwinnett Gladiators
- Gwinnett ranks third in the ECHL on the power play with 26.3 percent (5-for-19).
- Rookie Jeff Prough scored his first professional goal in 3-2 shootout loss to Augusta on Oct. 21.
- Gladiators host Charlotte on Tuesday and play at Mississippi on Friday and Saturday.

Mississippi Sea Wolves
- Sea Wolves rank seventh in the ECHL with 3.40 goals per game.
- Ryan Munce is 2-1-0 with a 2.35 goals-against average and a .939 save percentage in three games.
- Mississippi hosts Gwinnett on Friday and Saturday.

South Carolina Stingrays
- South Carolina is 2-0-0 when scoring first.
- Rookie Michael Dubuc scored his first professional hat trick in 4-1 win at Florida on Saturday.
- Stingrays host Florida on Friday and Saturday.

National Conference - West Division

Alaska Aces
- Aces rank second in the ECHL on the penalty kill with 90.9 percent (20-for-22).
- Josh Soares has a three-game goal streak (5g) including four goals in his last two games.
- Alaska hosts Fresno on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Idaho Steelheads
- Idaho is tied for second in the ECHL with a goals-against average of 2.00.
- Steve Gainey leads the team with three assists.
- Steelheads play at Elmira on Wednesday and Friday before visiting Reading on Saturday and Trenton on Sunday.

Phoenix RoadRunners
- RoadRunners lead the ECHL on the penalty kill with 96.7 percent (29-for-30).
- Kimbi Daniels is on a five-game point streak (3g-8a).
- Phoenix hosts Ontario on Friday and plays at Ontario on Saturday.

Utah Grizzlies
- Utah is fourth in the ECHL on the power play on the road with 25.0 percent (2-for-8).
- Ryan Kinasewich leads the team with three assists and five points.
- Grizzlies play at Victoria on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Victoria Salmon Kings
- Salmon Kings had 6,602 for opening night on Friday.
- Dan Gendur had five points (2g-3a) and Wes Goldie had four goals in three games last week.
- Victoria hosts Utah on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

National Conference - Pacific Division

Bakersfield Condors
- Bakersfield is out scoring their opponents 4-2 in the second period.
- Defenseman Martin Frechette scored his first professional goal on Saturday against Fresno.
- Condors play at Ontario on Wednesday and host Stockton on Saturday.

Fresno Falcons
- Fresno was 3-0-0 in 2005-06 and 2006-07, but has never been 4-0-0.
- Rookie Mike Radja has a three-game goal streak (3g) and leads the team with five points.
- Fresno plays at Alaska on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Las Vegas Wranglers
- Las Vegas ranks third in the ECHL with 24.60 shots-against per game.
- Rookie Bret Tyler leads the Wranglers with four assists and four points.
- Wranglers host Stockton on Friday.

Ontario Reign
- Reign won their first home game 4-1 over Las Vegas in front of 8,832.
- Jon Francisco has a four-game point streak (2g-3a).
- Ontario hosts Bakersfield on Wednesday and Phoenix on Saturday while playing at Phoenix on Friday.

Stockton Thunder
- Stockton ranks fourth in the ECHL on the power play with 25.0 percent (7-for-28).
- Cory Urquhart is tied for sixth in the ECHL with nine points (3g-6a).
- Thunder play at Las Vegas on Friday and at Bakersfield on Saturday.
