Akron RubberDucks News Release

The Aeros announced three roster moves today, placing OF Trevor Crowe on the disabled list, acquiring OF Matt LaPorta from Milwaukee, and activating LHP Chuck Lofgren from the inactive list.

Crowe, the reigning Eastern League Player of the Month, was put on the DL with a strained left intercostal muscle (the move is retroactive to July 2nd). This is the second trip to the DL for the former first round pick, who earlier missed 35 games with a strained back. Crowe was enjoying an exceptional season, hitting .325 with four homers and 26 RBI. He hit an even .400 in June.

LaPorta was one of four players acquired by Cleveland from Milwaukee in exchange for LHP CC Sabathia. He will hit third and play left field tonight.

Lofgren has not pitched since June 13th, and was placed on the inactive list the next day. He is 1-3 with a 5.95 ERA this year.
