Harrisburg Senators News Release

Harrisburg, PA - INF Matt Rogelstad, a Carolina League All-Star, joined the Harrisburg Senators today from Potomac. C Pat Nichols was sent to Potomac.

Rogelstad, 25, was hitting .274 with 21 doubles, 8 home runs and 39 RBIs for the P-Nats at the time of his promotion. He played nearly all of 2007 with Potomac and finished 2nd in the Carolina League in batting average at .302. Rogelstad played just one game with Harrisburg last year. He was acquired from the Mariners in March 2007 for cash considerations. Born in New Westminster, British Columbia, Rogelstad has represented Canada in several international baseball events including the 2006 World Baseball Classic.

Nichols, 23, played in just one game for the Senators since being added June 10th, going hitless in one pinch-hit at-bat.

With the moves, the Senators maintain a full complement of 24 active players. A new player means 51 players have suited up for Harrisburg this season. Only eight members of the Senators' Opening Day roster remain. The Senators' average age on the opening day roster was just over 26 and is now slightly over 25.

The Senators open a seven-game homestand tonight at 6:35 PM against the New Britain Rock Cats (Minnesota Twins). Tickets can be purchased by calling the Senators offices at 231-4444 or online at www.senatorsbaseball.com.
