P-Bruins fall to Sharks 3-0

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins fell to the Worcester Sharks 3-0 Friday evening in front of 8,601 fans at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The 29-6-2-1 Atlantic Division leading P-Bruins are back in action Saturday at the Cumberland County Civic Center against the Portland Pirates at 7:05 p.m. Providence is now 13 points ahead of the second place Hartford Wolf Pack and Pirates.

The Sharks scored the first goal of the game at the 7:09 mark of the opening period. Riley Armstrong tipped the puck in off a shot from Lukas Kaspar, for his eighth goal of the season. Tom Cavanagh recorded the second assist. Worcester took a 2-0 lead into the second intermission after scoring at the 16:01 mark. Devin Setoguchi tallied his first goal of the season with Dan Spang picking up the lone assist.

In the second period, the Sharks scored the lone goal at the 2:35 mark to take a 3-0 lead into the second intermission. Former P-Bruin Dennis Packard scored for his fifth time this season, with Josh Prudden and Ashton Rome grabbing the assists.

After a scoreless third period Worcester went on to the 3-0 victory.

Tuukka Rask stopped 8 of 11 shots and Jordan Sigalet stopped 18 of 18 shots for the P-Bruins, while Dimitri Patzold made 25 saves for the Sharks. The P-Bruins were 0-for-2 on the power play and 3-for-3 on the penalty kill.

The Atlantic Division-leading P-Bruins return to the Dunkin' Donuts Center for a Family Game Sunday, January 13 versus the Springfield Falcons at 4:05 p.m. The P-Bruins are also at the Dunk next Friday for Rhode Island Lottery Hat Night versus the Lowell Devils at 7:05 p.m. and next Sunday for T.J.
