
Canucks Re-assign Jaffray to Moose

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, announced they have re-assigned left winger Jason Jaffray to Manitoba.
Jaffray, 26, appeared in 13 games after being recalled to Vancouver on Dec. 11/07. He scored his first career NHL goal in his very first game at Anaheim Dec. 12/07. The goal was a game-winner and the Olds, AB native also picked up an assist. In 13 games, Jaffray scored two goals and three assists for five points and 13 penalty minutes. Jaffray is currently fourth in scoring on the Moose 10 goals and 11 assists for 21 points in 19 games. Last season, led the team in scoring with 35 goals and 46 assists for 81 points (all career highs) in 77 games. The Olds, AB native tied the Moose franchise mark for powerplay goals with 16 and finished the season tied for the American Hockey League lead in game-winning goals with nine. He also tied the franchise mark for the most goals in one game when he scored four goals in one game against the Chicago Wolves on Oct. 24/06 and also broke the team record for consecutive games with a goal at seven straight. Overall, Jaffray ended the season tied for fifth in scoring the AHL. He made his first-ever appearance at the Rbk Hockey AHL All-Star Classic in Toronto where he scored a goal and an assist. At the end of the season, Jaffray was named the team's Most Valuable Player. In 13 Calder Cup playoff games last season, he once again led the team in scoring with six goals and seven assists for 13 points and six penalty minutes.
In his career, Jaffray has appeared in 183 games with the Moose where he's collected 61 goals and 96 assists for 157 points and 173 penalty minutes. He has played in 219 career AHL games with the Moose, Cleveland, Wilkes-Barre, and Norfolk where he's scored 71 goals and 101 assists for 172 points and 196 penalty minutes.
