Manitoba Moose News Release
The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, announced they have recalled defenceman Nathan McIver from the Moose. As a result, the Moose have recalled defenceman Dylan Yeo from the Victoria Salmon Kings of the ECHL.
McIver, 23, has appeared in 29 games so far this season with the Moose where he's scored two goals and two assists for four points and 72 penalty minutes. He scored the game-winning goal Nov. 10/07 vs. Milwaukee and then scored the overtime winner Dec. 22/07 vs. Hamilton. The Summerside, PEI native has played in 157 career games with the Moose and has scored four goals and 10 assists for 14 points and 359 penalty minutes in that span. McIver made his National Hockey League debut last season for Vancouver versus the Anaheim Ducks on Nov. 9/06 and collected seven penalty minutes. He was recalled earlier this week (Jan. 8/08), but failed to appear in any action. McIver was originally Vancouver's eighth round draft choice, 254th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
Yeo, 21, has played in 33 games so far this season with the Salmon Kings where he's scored four goals and eight assists for 12 points and 44 penalty minutes. He spent four seasons in the Western Hockey League with Prince George and Calgary where he played in 228 games and scored 21 goals and 52 assists for 73 points and 464 penalty minutes. The Moose signed Yeo to a contract on July 17/07.
